Paraguay Air Force Signs Declaration of Interest for Argentina’s IA-100 Malvina.

The Argentine Aircraft Factory (FAdeA) and the Paraguayan Air Force (FAP) signed a declaration of interest for the IA-100, marking a milestone as it is the first foreign armed force to do so.

The document was signed by the commander of the Paraguayan Air Force, General Ar. Arturo Javier González Ocampo, and Franco Giuggioloni, vice president and general manager of FAdeA.

The IA-100 is a two-seat civil and military training aircraft that, according to FAdeA, is entirely made of composite materials with high participation from national suppliers.

It has a length of 8.4 meters, a wingspan of 9.9 meters, and a height of 2.6 meters, with a maximum takeoff weight of 1350 kg. It is equipped with a 260 HP Lycoming AEIO-540-D4A5 engine and two-blade propellers. Its maximum cruising speed is 155 knots (287 km/h) and it has a range of 590 nautical miles (1090 km) with a flight ceiling of 18,000 feet. The prototype first flew in August 2016.

“Its outstanding aerodynamics, excellent flight qualities, cutting-edge affordable systems, robust structure, and FAR-23 aerobatic category certification, combine a set of optimal features that allow for an efficient teaching process during pilot training with an excellent cost-benefit ratio,” highlighted at FAdeA.
