Indian Army removes Chinese tents set on Buffer Zone.

The Chinese Army pitched four tents in a “buffer zone” in eastern Ladakh’s Chushul a few days ago, three of which were removed after the Indian Army objected to their presence and the fourth one was being removed.

Chushul councillor Konchok Stanzin told The Hindu that he “received information from the villagers that while three tents were removed after the Indian Army objected to their presence, a fourth one was in the process of being removed”.

The tents were pitched on the Table Top area of Gurung Hills in eastern Ladakh, according to the report.

Buffer zones have been created in five regions of Ladakh as part of disengagement talks in the aftermath of the clash at Galwan in June 2020 and the subsequent build-up of Chinese and Indian armies along the disputed Line of Actual Control (LAC). The buffer zones are in Galwan, the north and south banks of Pangong Tso, PP-17 A, and in PP-15.

According to Stanzin, the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) pitched four tents just below Table Top mountain in Chushul. “The area falls under a buffer zone. Then how did those tents come up? It is a complete violation of the disengagement agreement. Isn’t it a matter of concern?” he told The Hindu.
