Argentina intends to buy H215 helicopters.

According to the Argentinian Defence Ministry, the Minister of Defence, Jorge Taiana, signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with his French counterpart Sébastien Lecornu, to possibly buy twelve Airbus H215 helicopters. The LoI was signed at this year’s Paris Air Show.

According to Scramble Magazine this LoI is a bit of a surprise as lately the Argentinian armed forces have obtained second hand Agusta-Bell AB206s from the Italian Carabinieri and started upgrading their UH-1Hs to UH-1H-II Hornero standard.

Obviously, this acquisition would be a substantial improvement. This possible deal is not done yet with finances usually being the most important hurdle to take. With a government to government deal however, special arrangements can be made for that of course.
